2024 has been an incredible year with many challenges and accomplishments. I'm honored to have been re-elected this year to serve the residents of District 3 for another four-year term and to have been able to serve as Chairman of the Board of Supervisors for a second year in a row.
2025 has a lot in store for the board, and I look forward to continuing to represent the residents of the Third District.
Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

SECOND ANNUAL ORANGE COUNTY HALL OF FAME INDUCTION CEREMONY |
SECOND ANNUAL ORANGE COUNTY HALL OF FAME INDUCTION CEREMONY |
Last Week's Second Annual Hall of Fame induction ceremony was a great success! Orange County is blessed to have such talented and storied individuals who have helped shape the greatness of our communities. My colleauges and I inducted in to the Hall of Fame: Richard Nixon, Carl Karcher, Charlie Zhang, Nick Berardino, Sylvia Mendez, Ed Paul, Wing Lam and the Lee Family, Bill Steiner, and Leo Fender. We have established a great tradition of honoring our Orange County legends. I want to thank everyone involved in making this happen. Looking forward to next year! |

THIRD ANNUAL TROUT FISHING DERBY |
THIRD ANNUAL TROUT FISHING DERBY |
On Saturday, December 7th, my office hosted its Third Annual Fishing Derby at Irvine Lake. I am happy to report another huge success! Beginning at 5am, hundreds of fishermen and their families lined up to the lake’s gate to find their spot on the shoreline. We had stocked the lake the prior day and the fish were biting. The largest fish caught during the day was a 7.3 pound rainbow trout. Prizes were awarded for the the three largest caught fish. We had blind bogey drawings, raffles, two food trucks, and best of all, great weather! My office couldn’t do this without the help of Orange County Parks and all its dedicated staff. Another successful derby in the books! I’m looking forward to next year! |

ANNUAL BOARD OF SUPERVISORS CHRISTMAS OPEN HOUSE |
On Wednesday, December 4th, the Board of Supervisors held its annual Christmas Open House. I was delighted to talk to members of the public, business community, other elected officials, representatives from government agencies, and other stakeholders. It’s always a pleasure to host this open house every year. Thanks to all who stopped by to say hi! |

ORANGE CHRISTMAS TREE LIGHTING |
ORANGE CHRISTMAS TREE LIGHTING |
With the lighting of the Christmas Tree, the candlelight parade of singers, the community orchestra, and the reading of the Nativity story, the 2024 Christmas Season officially began in the City of Orange. Booths around the Plaza Park are run by local non-profits and have cookies, hot chocolate, water, coffee, and other goodies, as well as the opportunity to have a picture with Santa Clause. This year was even more special because the community leadership from Greater Orange Community Arts & Theater (GOCAT) did all the fundraising to make sure this enormously popular event was held on its 30th Anniversary. Over 10,000 people show up each year for this wonderful community celebration. |

PASSING OF FORMER ORANGE MAYOR MARK MURPHY |
PASSING OF FORMER ORANGE MAYOR MARK MURPHY |
Last Friday night, I was delivered the tragic news that Mark Murphy, the former Mayor of Orange, passed away suddenly. The City of Orange lost an incredible man, a dedicated public servant who served as mayor and councilmember for more than two decades. The Board of Supervisors adjouned our December 17 meeting in Mark's memory. My thoughts and prayers are with his wife Vikki, mother Lois, and other family and loved ones during this difficult time. |
