Spring has arrived, and with warmer weather, many community events are being announced across the county. This month, my office and I have been busy! At this week's Board of Supervisors meeting, I introduced an agenda item that allocated $10,000 of discretionary funds toward Villa Park High School's "Every 15 Minutes" program, an educational initiative aimed at raising awareness about the dangers of drunk driving. I also had the honor of being the guest speaker at the Anaheim Chamber of Commerce's Government Affairs Committee, where I discussed public safety, the veterans' cemetery in Anaheim Hills, and AQMD's proposed environmental regulations. Additionally, I presented Sandy Marshall, Chief Marketing and Development Officer for Girl Scouts of Orange County, with a proclamation recognizing the 113th anniversary of the Girl Scouts of the USA. My staff has also attended several grand openings and ribbon-cutting events across the district, showcasing the vibrant business growth throughout Orange County. March has been a productive month, and I look forward to what April has in store! |

Board of Supervisors Approves Supervisor Wagner’s $10,000 Allocation to Villa Park High School’s Every 15 Minutes Program SANTA ANA, CA – At the March 25 Board meeting, the Board of Supervisors unanimously approved Supervisor Don Wagner’s allocation of $10,000 of Third District discretionary funds to support Villa Park High School’s Every 15 Minutes program. Every 15 Minutes is an educational program that Villa Park High School has implemented to educate its students about the dangers of impaired driving. It has already secured a $10,000 grant from the California Highway Patrol to cover half the program’s cost. Supervisor Wagner’s funding will provide the remaining amount needed to fully implement the program. “Every 15 Minutes is a powerful educational program that teaches high school students about the dangers of drinking and driving,” said Supervisor Wagner. “This initiative encourages students to make responsible and informed decisions regarding impaired driving, and I am proud to fill the funding gap to support this vitally important program.” Supervisor Wagner’s decision to support this initiative reflects his continued support for investing in the safety and well-being of our community’s youth and will ensure that over 1,000 students receive critical education on DUI prevention. |
