What a way to start March with a resounding re-election victory on March 5th! I am humbled and honored to have the support of such a large majority of the voters of the 3rd Supervisorial District. Serving the people of Orange County has been the honor of a lifetime, and I look forward to another four years on the Board of Supervisors. Last Friday, Orange County had a scare when an oil sheen appeared off the coast of Huntington Beach, but the Coast Guard was able to contain the sheen over the weekend. Thankfully, samples from the oil sheen were more consistent with oil that seeps naturally, and it doesn't appear to be from an oil spill from one of the oil platforms off the coast. I want to thank the Coast Guard, California Fish and Wildlife, and Orange County's Emergency Operations Center for their quick response, diligence, and attention to this incident. As always, I am delighted to serve the people of Orange County and look forward to what the rest of March has to offer! |

Allow me a moment to thank the voters of the Third Supervisorial District who delivered a resounding victory to me on Election Day. I treasure the overwhelming support and vote of confidence in my bid for re-election to another four year term in office. My District Three team and I have worked relentlessly and effectively to better the quality of life for all Orange County citizens. The support from the public is very gratifying. I want specifically to thank my family, staff, and volunteers and supporters for all the hard work they put into this campaign, so that we can continue to prioritize the interests of the people of the Third District. But mostly, I want to thank the significant majority of voters with whom my campaign resonated and who have joined with me to continue protecting public safety and standing with law enforcement, to maintain fiscal discipline and integrity with balanced budgets and no new taxes, to fight for local control of our neighborhoods, schools, and economy, and to tackle the mental health and homeless crises. Thank you, and I look forward to my next term on the Orange County Board of Supervisors. |

Saint Patrick's Day is the celebration of Saint Patrick, the Romano-British Catholic Bishop who led the introduction of the Christian faith to Ireland. It is also a celebration of Irish heritage and culture, which many Orange County residents share. I wish everyone a very happy and safe Saint Patrick's Day! |

At Tuesday's Board of Supervisors Meeting, I was honored to present a resolution proclaiming March as Social Work Month. In 1984, President Ronald Reagan signed into law a joint resolution to proclaim March as National Social Work Month. Therefore, every March, we honor the social workers who serve Orange County with respect, dedication and empathy. They carry themselves with the utmost professionalism, serving a multitude of programs including: - Family preservation, maintenance and reunification
- Emergency response and crisis intervention
- Substance abuse treatment
- Mental health services
- Foster care and adoption
- Elder abuse and in-home support services
- Correctional health services
- Employment opportunities
- Domestic violence services
The County takes pride in the way our social workers protect our most vulnerable residents and help them overcome barriers, access critical resources and services they need to thrive, and maintain optimal health and well-being. These individuals represent a profession that celebrates the courage, hope and strength of the human spirit. We thank them and all County social workers for their incredible service to the community. |
At Tuesday's Board of Supervisors Meeting, the Board introduced a proclamation declaring March 24th as World TB Day in Orange County. In 2022, over 10 million people globally became ill and 1.3 million died of tuberculosis, making it one of the most infectious killers that year. TB Continues to be a major health concern in the US, with an estimated 13 million people infected with latent TB infection (LTBI). There were 205 active cases of TB in Orange County in 2023, with more than 200,000 LTBI cases in the county. The Orange County Healthcare Agency has been an incredible advocate for TB awareness, prevention, and treatment. We stand with the HCA in declaring March 24th as World TB Day in Orange County with the theme “Yes! We Can End TB”, as we encourage all Orange County residents to control and eventually eliminate TB by increasing awareness, participation in prevention and education activities, and supporting those who have undergone TB treatment. |
FOOTHILLS COMMUNITY ASSOCIATION ANNUAL MEETING |
I had the privilege of speaking at the Foothills Community Association annual meeting. There were lots of great questions from North Tustin residents. Many thanks to OC Public Works staff for their attendance and for their assistance. Orange County District Attorney Todd Spitzer was also in attendance to discuss crime and safety.
Capt. AJ Patella from the Orange County Sheriff's Department shared some good news: the rate of burglaries in North Tustin was cut in half during the past year.
As always, we’re grateful to the men and women of our law enforcement agencies.

I’m delighted to see the progress of our local community colleges and improvements to the educational opportunities for our young people as they prepare for the workforce. |
FRIDAY SHABBAT DINNER AT RABBI ELIEZER GURARY'S HOME |
I was honored to be the guest speaker at the Friday Shabbat dinner at Rabbi Eliezer Gurary’s home in Orange. There were at least 70 young people from Chapman University attending the dinner. I spoke with the students about Israel and the current conflict in Gaza, and about freedom of religion and how vital it will be for them to continue to stand for their rights.
I want to thank Chabad at Chapman University and Rabbi Eliezer for their hospitality and for hosting me at this special event.
