I had the opportunity to welcome the public to the Richard Nixon Presidential Library and Museum Theater for the reading of the Declaration of Independence, exactly 250 years after it was read publicly for the first time. The reading was segmented into 36 parts allowing for participation from our county veterans, elected officials, residents, and even the winner of the state’s Civics Bee. The Colonial Color Guard participated and local singer, Robin Follman, sang both the National Anthem and “God Bless America”. It was an honor and privilege to serve as the Honorary Chairman of USA 250 Orange County and to be a part of this patriotic event. |

The Transportation Corridor Agencies (TCA) has surpassed 3 million accountholders — a major milestone for California’s largest toll road network. I am proud to serve on TCA’s Board of Directors. This achievement comes just five years after TCA reached 2 million accounts, underscoring the continued growth of drivers choosing the convenience of electronic payment. TCA operates Orange County’s The Toll Roads system — the 73, 133, 241, and 261 Toll Roads — which represents 20% of the county’s highway system and helps reduce congestion on parallel freeways. TCA continues to meet Orange County’s growing need for innovative transportation solutions, serving a quarter of a million drivers every day |

My staff recently toured Santa Margarita Water District’s Trampas Canyon Reservoir & Dam to learn about this critical piece of infrastructure, and the essential services that the water district provides. The Trampas Canyon Reservoir serves as the largest recycled water reservoir in Orange County, allowing for the storage 1.6 billion gallons of treated wastewater for use in dry, summer months. Thank you so much to the staff at Santa Margarita Water District, and the California Special District Association, for organizing this incredibly informative tour of the Trampas Canyon Reservoir & Dam, and providing a comprehensive, hands-on learning experience for attendees! |

My District Director, Scott Voigts, and Community Outreach Director, Saga Conroy, had the honor of attending the The Salvation Army USA’s groundbreaking ceremony for the new Center for Applied Research and Innovation (CARI) building at the Anaheim Emergency Shelter and Center of Hope campus. They presented a certificate of recognition to mark this significant milestone. This new Center for Applied Research and Innovation is a first-of-its-kind facility—not just for Orange County, but for the Salvation Army’s global mission across 132 countries. The CARI building will house the Samueli Innovation Hub, the William Gross Wellness Center (a state-of-the-art urgent care facility), the Empowerment Pavilion for counseling and case management, and a 300-seat multipurpose space for collaboration and community engagement. It is inspiring to see Orange County leading the way in homeless care through applied research and innovative program development. Congratulations to the Salvation Army on this project! |

Congratulations to Le Saint Honoré Bakery on the grand opening of its new location in Irvine! Located at the corner of Laguna Canyon Rd and Alton Pkwy, this authentic French bakery offers an irresistible selection of artisan pastries, tarts, quiches, and other freshly baked delights. The husband‑and‑wife team behind the bakery began their business at local farmers markets before opening their first retail store in Dana Point. Their new Irvine location employs 30 team members who bake around the clock to serve walk‑in customers and supply more than 50 farmers market locations. My Field Representative Al Tello presented a certificate of recognition on my behalf — and sampled the pastries. Somehow Al always manages to attend the ribbon cuttings where something delicious is being served. It’s not a coincidence, I’m sure. |

My Community Outreach Director, Saga Conroy, had the pleasure of joining Capistrano Unified School District and Capistrano Valley High School for the grand opening of their brand-new stadium and presented a certificate of Congratulations to CVHS Principal John Misustin. This state-of-the-art facility is now the proud home of Cougar athletics and the marching band, featuring: • Seating for 2,750 fans • A new entrance with a ticket booth, concession stand, restrooms, team rooms, and storage • Upgraded lighting, sound system, and video board • New turf and track surfaces • A 1,500 square-foot weight room A big shout out to the construction partners, facilities and maintenance teams, and the Mission Viejo City Council for years of planning that brought this project in ahead of schedule and under budget. Congratulations to the entire Capo Valley community! We can’t wait to cheer on the Cougars this fall. |

The City of Tustin’s Summer Concerts in the Park featured a spectacular performance by the Journey tribute band, DSB. This band has been performing in Tustin for many years and always attracts a large crowd to Peppertree Park. My Field Representative Al Tello was in attendance, and local protocol “forced” him to dance and have fun. Although he was spotted making the rounds, oddly enough, there’s no photo evidence of him on the dance floor. |

Pat Buttress, my Field Representative, presented a certificate of recognition for this momentous occasion. Mrs. Taylor has lived in Orange for 50 years and is an inspiration to anyone who wants to obtain this wonderful life milestone. |
