A big turnout at the Orange County Parks Summer Concert at Irvine Regional Park welcomed Queen Nation, the #1‑ranked Queen tribute band in the U.S. Before the concert, I had the opportunity to meet members of Queen Nation—truly talented performers. They play about 125 shows annually across the country and internationally. I also had the honor of introducing the band onstage. Thank you to OC Parks, the park rangers, and the staff at Irvine Regional Park for hosting this event. And thank you to everyone who stopped by our booth and said hello, especially "Cowboy", my big, white, furry friend from the Canyons. Join us back at Irvine Regional Park for Sunset Cinema for a free screening of the animated hit Kung Fu Panda 4 on Friday, August 14, and Jumanji on Friday, August 21. Woodbridge Village in Irvine is celebrating its 50th anniversary, marking five decades of being a wonderful place to live. At this year’s 4th of July Parade, two shuttles carried original owners who purchased homes when the community was first built. Woodbridge Village was developed by the Irvine Company and broke ground in 1975. It was master planned to ensure residents were always within a 10 minute walk of a park, pool, or lake. The community was uniquely designed around two large, man made lakes—North Lake and South Lake—providing lakefront access for all residents. On a sunny morning in June 1976, more than 10,000 people lined up for a lottery to purchase one of the first 350 homes in the newly opened Woodbridge Village—an event that drew national attention. Today, Woodbridge is home to about 30,000 residents and remains one of Irvine’s desirable places to live, with its two lakes, a shopping center, and 41 recreational facilities connected by trails and bike paths. Woodbridge spans 1,700 acres right in the heart of Irvine. Congratulations to Woodbridge Village and all the wonderful people who call it home on this remarkable milestone! |

It was a sold out dinner, and Orange Mayor Dan Slater conducted the installation for the new Chairman of the Board, Adam Carr, as well as the other new board members. The event included over 65 Best of Orange Awards plus three Best of Villa Park Awards. Congratulations to all the new board members and to all the awardees! |
