Thank you for subscribing to my newsletter. Please share it with any of your friends who might be interested in the county and what we can do to be helpful. June has been off to a busy start. At Tuesday's Board of Supervisors meeting, the Board voted in favor of the Fiscal Year 2026-2027 County budget, a balanced budget that, despite cuts to nonessential services due to federal and state funding reductions, ensures Orange County's essential services remain intact. Because of the federal and state cuts, the county has to tighten its belt. Until we see some relief and a restoration of funds, we all must make spending cuts to non-essential programs and focus on how we can make do with a leaner, streamlined budget. In other news, I joined the Community Foundation of Orange's Annual Gala last week, participated in an annual Blue Mass honoring our men and women in law enforcement, and attended the Orange County Fire Authority's Best and Bravest Awards honoring our county's firefighters and all they do to protect our communities. I want to wish everyone a happy Flag Day and all Orange County fathers a very happy Father's Day! |

PRESS RELEASE: BOARD OF SUPERVISORS APPROVES SUPERVISOR WAGNER'S $250,000 ALLOCATION TO THE VETERANS LEGAL INSTITUTE (Santa Ana, CA) – At Tuesday’s Board of Supervisors meeting, the Board preliminarily approved the Fiscal Year 2026-2027 County budget. At $10.5 billion, this year’s budget was smaller and more streamlined than previous budgets due to reduced federal and state funding. “This fiscal year, the Board of Supervisors and all county departments to close a significant budget shortfall, made cuts to their discretionary spending,” said Supervisor Wagner. “In no circumstance were departments directed to cut a specific program or implement a specific cost-saving measure.” “Because of the federal and state cuts, the county has to tighten its belt,” Supervisor Wagner continued. “Until we see some relief and a restoration of funds, we all must make spending cuts to non-essential programs and focus on how we can make do with a leaner, streamlined budget.” Supervisor Wagner remains committed to maintaining essential services and fiscal responsibility for Orange County residents. As the county moves forward under the new budget, the Third District office will continue to prioritize meeting the community’s needs. |

On June 14th, 1777, the Second Continental Congress adopted the 13-starred “Betsy Ross Flag” as the official flag of the United States of America. 249 years later, our flag now has 50 beautiful stars as America has become the greatest nation in history. As we approach the 250th anniversary of the founding of our nation, let us remember all that this flag represents and all that was sacrificed to build these United States. Wishing you all a happy Flag Day! |

It was my honor to be a table sponsor for the Community Foundation of Orange Annual Gala – Boots on the Ground. This year the gala honored the Assistance League of Orange for all it has done for the community of Orange. Mayor Dan Slater, my Arts Commission appointee Kim Le, and I dusted off our cowboy hats for this charitable roundup. The gala sold out at 280 and was attended by community and political leaders. It was a fun occasion for all attendees, and Team Wagner enjoyed the opportunity to dress Western for the occasion. |
