Thank you for subscribing to my newsletter. Please share it with any of your friends who might be interested in the county and what we can do to be helpful. Last week, we recognized the 24th anniversary of the September 11th terrorist attacks, a tragic day that we should never forget. This week is the 238th anniversary of the signing of the US Constitution, a monumental day where our founding fathers enshrined our form of government. This is followed by POW/MIA Day, a day where we recognize all of the servicemembers who have either been captured or gone missing during wartime. With a couple more weeks until fall officially starts, make sure to squeeze in those last few summer events before that sweater weather kicks in! |

SUPERVISORS DON WAGNER AND JANET NGUYEN SEEK TO CLEAN VOTER ROLLS OF ALL DOGS On Wednesday, September 10, the Registrar of Voters ran the voter rolls for the gerrymandering Special Election. On Tuesday, three of my colleagues rejected the emergency item from me and Supervisor Nguyen, which requested that we investigate and remove animals from those rolls. This unbelievable rejection came despite the Registrar admitting that a dog voted twice in recent OC elections. The fact that this illegal registration was allowed to happen in the first place demands an investigation. But protecting the Registrar against having to take any action in the little time remaining to see whether other animals are “voting” is inexplicable if you’re committed to free and fair elections. This comes on the heels of the board deciding at our last meeting to fight the Department of Justice to protect 17 SELF-ADMITTED illegal voters on our rolls, along with the dog. We have a problem with our voter rolls, and a board that is unwilling to take whatever steps necessary to fix the issue. Supervisor Nguyen and I will bring this item back to the next Board meeting to give our colleagues another chance to restore sanity to our voter rolls. |

I am saddened and disgusted by the murder of Charlie Kirk, a champion of civil debate and discussion over political issues of the day. His death is yet another example of politically charged violence in America that has no place in a civilized society. I pray for his soul and for his wife and two small children in this time of great tragedy. |

24 years have passed, but we must never forget the 2,977 victims of the September 11th, 2001 terrorist attacks commited by al-Qaeda that launched the United States and our allies into a 20 year conflict of fighting and defeating those responsible for taking so many innocent lives that day. While 9/11 was a tragic day for all Americans, the unity that it brought in the aftermath of the attacks is something that we must always strive for as we commemorate the lives of those lost. |

It has been 238 years since the signing of the US Constitution on September 17th, 1787. This timeless document is the oldest written and codified national constitution in the world. Testament to the wisdom of the founding fathers, our constitution still stands as the law of the land in our great nation. |

On POW/MIA day, we honor those brave Americans who served in our military who were prisoners of war or missing in action. Over the course of our nation’s history, far too many of our military heroes have been captured by our enemies, some of whom were never seen again. This day is dedicated to them and the sacrifices they made to ensure the safety of all of us. |

At Tuesday's Board Meeting, the Board of Supervisors recognized September as Prostate Cancer Awareness Month, where we were joined by represenatvies from the Prostate Forum of Orange County. Prostate Cancer is the most commonly diagnosed form of cancer and the second leading cause of cancer in men. With 1 in 8 men being diagnosed with prostate cancer, it is vital that all of us get regular medical check-ups to keep track of our health. Prostate cancer is highly treatable, and the earlier it is detected, the easier it is to treat. But left untreated, this disease can be deadly. That is why we should never take our health for granted and should always be vigilant about regular checkups, including PSA tests and MRI scans. As we observe Prostate Cancer Awareness Month, let us use this time to encourage all the fathers, brothers, husbands, sons, and friends to take their health seriously and schedule regular screenings. Early detection saves lives, and together, through awareness, education, and the support of our outstanding healthcare professionals, we can continue to make a difference in the fight against prostate cancer. |

For over a century, these service clubs have spearheaded impactful initiatives, including education, scholarships, food bank distributions, donations to homeless shelters, community development projects, disaster relief, and more. Over the decades, these service clubs have become a staple in our community, elevating countless individuals through scholarships, leadership training, and outreach, continually shaping the future of Orange County. I proudly served as the Grand Marshal for the Circle S Ranch Rodeo in Silverado! The event brought together the community for an exciting day of classic rodeo action, including high-speed barrel racing, skilled roping competitions, and mutton bustin’ for the little ones. It was a fantastic celebration of western heritage and hometown spirit. |

YORBA LINDA FIRST RESPONDERS APPRECIATION BREAKFAST |
Last week, at the Yorba Linda Chamber of Commerce’s First Responders Appreciation Breakfast Drive Thru, I had the honor of welcoming Yorba Linda’s first responders prior to leading the Pledge of Allegiance. Utilizing the same “drive thru” breakfast that was popularized during the pandemic, this event was attended by our first responders from Emergency Ambulance, Falck, Orange County Fire Authority, and Orange County Sheriff Department. We are incredibly grateful for all our first responders do to protect and serve the citizens of Orange County! |

ORANGE INTERNATIONAL STREET FAIR |
Once again my office staff manned our booth throughout the 2 ½ days of the Orange International Street Fair. There were over 300,000 that came to the City of Orange to enjoy food from around the world, special beers, wine, and wonderful craft items. On Friday, August 29, I took to the Main Stage to welcome everyone to the street fair, and then bringing on stage the local band, "The Wemberleys," for the National Anthem. A big thanks to the City of Orange and all the local vendors for organizing this wonderful community event every year! |
